CUSTOM MADE DESIGN
At Klepner's a great deal of our business is done through the design and creation of rings for our customers.
It is not at all unusual for a discerning individual to greatly admire the design of an antique piece but long for something perhaps a little bit bigger, with brighter diamonds, slightly different, say, with more sapphires and less diamonds, and that’s where we come in.
We are proud to have two of Australia's most talented and multi award winning jewellery designers as part of our family, so we are very well placed to help you create the ring of your dreams.
We can design and create jewellery to your own design specifications using a comprehensive selection of gemstones and using all types of metal.
VALUATIONS
An on-site jewellery valuation service is available by appointment. Each Klepner's certificate of valuation comes professionally bound with a detailed report of the item and a digital photograph.
Ronnie Bauer, Klepner's owner, has over thirty years experience and expertise in fine, antique and vintage jewellery. He is known as a jeweller's jeweller. Other jewellers frequently come to him to authenticate and value an item.
He is a Registered Valuer with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers and is also one of the three Melbourne based approved valuers for the Australian Government Cultural Gifts Program. We can provide valuations for a variety of purposes: insurance, probate, legal, selling, technical and customs (F.O.B.).
Same day service $75.00 per item or $50.00 per item if the goods are left with us.
REPAIRS
Klepner's highly qualified repair department is staffed with expert jewellers and two award winning custom jewellery designers. No job is too big or too small. Our skilled jewellers are eager to take on any challenge your jewellery needs may present.
Each piece brought in for repair is carefully examined in order to determine the work needed and to present you with the most cost effective estimate. We take great pride in striving to do our very best work to the satisfaction of our customers.
Klepner's offer the following services: Repairs to gold, silver and pinchbeck; soldering of chains; retipping and replacement of claws on rings and brooches; rebuilding of coronets; restoration of shanks on rings; pearl and bead restringing; restoration of antique and vintage timepieces; metal and stone engraving (coat of arms a speciality), locketeering and gemstone cutting and polishing. QUOTES FOR INSURANCE REPLACEMENT
Klepner's deals with many insurance companies and we are happy to provide a written quote for replacement if you have suffered a loss. We also can help you settle a claim by replacing pieces that were stolen or lost.
JEWELLERY BOUGHT AND SOLD
Klepner's is one of the largest antique and vintage buyers in Victoria. We offer a safe, simple and trouble free solution to selling your unwanted diamonds and jewellery.
We purchase antique, vintage and estate items including diamonds, gold, platinum and watches. Though we mainly purchase antique jewellery, we’re always interested in viewing modern pieces. We are well recognised as offering the best prices, however, if we can't help you with your pieces, we will guide you to your best available options.
Klepner's also offers a consignment service. For more substantial items this may be a better way for you to sell your item. Klepner’s also provides better value for sellers as we don’t work on a percentage system but establish a price agreeable to both parties and guarantee to pay that price to the vendor when the piece is sold. We also take responsibility for the GST and discounts that may have to be offered.
